Program Update – Employers with Mobile Workers
Please note that the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has updated its Employer Guide and related Employer Job Offer stream pages to clarify the minimum number of employees that an employer must have when the employer employs mobile workers. This includes, as an example, employers in the construction industry with workers who work at more than one “job” location.

June 3, 2024: Alberta Opportunity Stream application acceptance resumes on June 11
The Alberta Opportunity Stream will resume accepting applications on June 11, under new guidelines. This new approach will result in better processing times and also offer applicants multiple opportunities to apply to the program for the limited number of available provincial nomination certificates.Important factsApplications will be accepted on 7 dates for the remainder of 2024, one per month:Each month a specific number of applications will be accepted.When that target is reached, no further applications will be accepted until the next date. The target is subject to change.Applications acceptance dates, application targets, estimates and processing times are posted on AAIP processing times and application levels. They are subject to change.Applicants and prospective applicants should visit regularly for the most current information.Note: Alberta received 9,750 nominations from the federal government which is the maximum number of provincial nomination certificates that can be issued in 2024.

June 3, 2024: New Guidelines For AAIP
The demand to immigrate to Alberta is far higher than the province can accommodate within the limited number of nominations received from the federal government every year. Therefore, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) must manage its 2024 allocation to address economic priorities across all sectors.As a result, to help manage the incredible demand, processing times and maximum nominations for 2024, AAIP has adopted new guidelines for the Alberta Opportunity Steam, Rural Renewal Stream and Accelerated Tech Pathway, similar to those used in the Tourism and Hospitality Stream.Each month a targeted number of applications will be accepted into the pool from where AAIP will draw. April 1, 2024: AAIP changed its fees – See the new fee schedule for details
As of April 1, 2024, the AAIP is aligning its fees to match service delivery costs. AAIP fees are intended to cover the operational cost of these programs. April 23, 2024: Temporary AAIP processing measures for Ukrainian nationals ending April 30
All temporary processing measures for Ukrainian nationals will end April 30, 2024. The following changes apply to submissions on or after May 1, 2024:Applications and requests for post-decision services will not be priority processed.Application fees and request for post-decision service fees will not be reimbursed.Incomplete applications will no longer be accepted.
